There are 6 types of memberships:
- Community Administrator (Prof. Dr. Bayram GÖCMEN – Ege University, Izmir)
- System Administrator (Prof. Dr. Zeynel Cebeci – Çukurova University, Adana)
- Family Administrator
- Species Administrator
- Honorary Member
- Community Member
- Portal Member (as of 23.12.2011, this membership type has been removed)
Community Administrator is responsible for the activities of AdaMerOs Herptile Turkey and is the founder of the group.
System Administrator is responsible for the design and development of the web site, and also is vice to Community Admin. He is also a founder of the group.
Family Administrator is responsible for the 6 families, sub-families and species found in the portal.
Species Administrator is responsible for the species he/she is given to.
There can only be one administrator within the same family and/or species, whereas one person can be responsible for multiple families and species. Family and Species administrators are responsible for the taxonomic data, general information on the families/species and their updating. They also control the correctness of the species photos uploaded by the members.
Honorary members are selected by the Community administrator based on their scientific/photographic achievements and works. Once they accept the invitation to be an honorary member of the Community, they are added automatically as portal members by the system. The group uses their extensive knowledge and experience on taxonomy, species identification, photography etc.
Community members are responsible for adding their own photos to the portal.
Only portal members can view the photos in full resolution (as of 23.12.2011, this membership type has been removed. Everyone can view the photos in full resolution. The membership of people who are not adding their own photos until the end of 2011 to the portal will also be deleted).
You can only be a new member after you apply through the given link below and show two existing members as reference. Therefore, after you submitted your application, you have to send the names of two existing members as reference via email to email@example.com.
Or alternatively, you can write an email explaining yourself, your work and what you can add to the Community’s knowledge. After this is completed, your membership will be decided in the following couple of days after the revision of ethics and discipline commission.
