AdaMerOs Herptile is a nature website established by both amateur and Professional photographers which aims the promotion and protection of the amphibians and reptiles of Turkey. Just like the sister website AdaMerOs Butterfly, it aims to protect the biological richness through advertisement, observation and photography. All members of the website are committed to these principals. AdaMerOs Herptile is the descendant of the AdaMerOs ButterflyTurkey and that’s where the generic name AdaMerOs originates from. This group was originally founded by the Butterfly observers in Adana, Mersin and Osmaniye whereas nowadays the name is being used as in ADAM-EROS (Eros: God of Love, Greek Myth., Adam: Man, Turkish), meaning “the man of love/passion”.

As a result, by implementing the name AdaMerOs generically, but expanding the scope to Turkey wide, we have accepted our name as “AdaMerOs Herptile Turkey”. In this matter, we are “AdaMerOs Herptile Turkey – Amphibian and reptile observation and photography society of Turkey”.
